The blessings of the sacred kheer bore fruit as Kaushalya gave birth to the noble Lord Rama, Kaikeyi to the valiant Bharata, and Sumitra to the steadfast twins Lakshmana and Shatrughna, on the auspicious ninth day of the Chaitra month.
